Atlantic Immigration Program - New Brunswick Immigration Program, Canada
The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a definite pathway to obtain Canadian Permanent residence especially for international graduate students (from a recognized institution) and skilled foreign nationals who aspire to work and reside in New Brunswick. This program will help employers of New Brunswick hire skilled aspirants for job which they are unable to fulfill locally.
We are accepting expression of interest from employers based in New Brunswick who are intending to fall under designated category and thereby issuance of provinical endorsements for their positions.
List of Designated Employers – Atlantic Immigration Program
ELIGIBILITY
An Employer seeking to hire any foreign national must fall under the list of designated employer by the Province. They must have their position endorsed by the province after qualifying to become as a designated employer by the province.
A designated employer can hire candidates under the Altantic Immigration Program. The Province is responsible for approving employers for designation and the endorsements of the positions.
Once the position is endorsed by the Province, the foreign worker(s) identified by the employer, can apply directly for their permanent residency under the Atlantic Immigration Program. The foreign worker may also receive a temporary work permit while waiting for permanent residency.
Process to apply under AIP - New Brunswick Program
Step 1: Employer Designation
An Employer must fulfill below conditions to qualify under the Designated list of employers:
- not be in violation of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act(IRPA) or the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR)
- be in good standingand comply with employment standards and occupational health and safety legislation
- not recruit or hire workers for the purpose of establishing a pool of candidates that can be later transferred or contracted out to separate businesses for staffing purposes
- have been in continuous, active operation under the same management for at least 2 yearsin 1 of the Atlantic provinces, or be able to show continuous, active operation in another location with confirmation of approval from the province in which you’re applying for designation
- work with a New Brunswick settlement service provider organizationto help your candidates get settlement services
- commit to taking the onboarding training
- commit to taking the intercultural competency training, unless you’re exempted by the province. A New Brunswick workforce attraction officer will inform you if you need to take the training during the intake conversation.
Step 2: Employer Position Endorsement
An Employer must fulfill below criteria to have a position endorsed by the Province:
- Receive Designation from New BrunswickProvince
- To prove that the employer was unable to hire locally
- Recruit a foreign workeridentified by the employer
- Provide a full-time job offer to the foreign worker
- Provide an individualized settlement plan through one of New Brunswick’s settlement service providers, co-signed by the foreign worker
- Complete mandatory onboarding training;
- Complete intercultural competency training, unless exempted by the province.
Step 3: Foreign Worker Immigration Application
A Foreign Worker may apply for permanent residency and have to fulfill below criteria:
- Have a valid endorsement certificateissued by New Brunswick.
- Foreign workers who require a work permit must have a work permit referral letter issued by the Province.
- Employers supporting work permit applications must register in the federal employer portal, submit the job offer and pay a compliance fee.
A foreign worker has to submit a complete application to IRCC including all relevant information like reference letters, a valid language assessement with qualifying scores along with proof of education which must be assessed by an Education Credentiak Assessment or any Candadian Equivalency.

Atlantic Immigration Program - Nova Scotia Immigration Program
The Atlantic Immigration Program is a federal immigration program that helps employers recruit skilled foreign workers and international graduates to meet labour needs. There are four provinces under Atlantic Immigration Program namely Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, New Foundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
ELIGIBILITY under Atlantic Immigration Program:
EMPLOYER’S ELIGIBILITY:
Employers must fall under the designated employers list and they must qualify by having their positions endorsed by the Province.
Foreign Worker Eligibility:
Foreign worker(s) can apply directly to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for their Permanent Residency after the employer’s position is endorsed by the Province and upon selection by the employer accordingly.
The foreign worker can also get a temporary work permit while waiting for permanent residency.
HOW TO APPLY:
Applications for designation and endorsement must be submitted online with all the required information
STEPS/PROCESS UNDER ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PROGRAM - NOVA SCOTIA IMMIGRATION PROGRAM
1. Employer Designation
It is very important that an employer who wishes to identifiy foreign worker must fall under the list of designated employers approved by the province.
To qualify for becoming designated employer, an employer must fullfill below conditions:
- Have a business operating in good standing
- Provide information on labour needs
- Commit to working with a service provider organization on settlement and retention
2. Employer Position Endorsement
An employer must fullfill below conditions for endorsing their position by the Province:
Demonstrate that efforts to hire locally have been unsuccessful
Recruit a foreign worker
Provide a valid, full-time, non-seasonal job offer co-signed by the foreign worker
Provide an individualized settlement plan co-signed by the foreign worker
Complete mandatory onboarding training and, if required, intercultural competency training
3. Foreign Worker Immigration Application
To apply for permanent residency foreign workers must:
- Have a valid endorsement certificate issued by the province
- Foreign workers who require a work permit must have a work permit referral letter issued by the Province
- Employers supporting work permit applications must register in the federal employer portal, submit the job offer and pay a compliance fee
